Don’t Miss 6GWorld’s MWC Barcelona Coverage – Here’s the Schedule

February 22, 2023

CATEGORY: Exclusives

Although owners GSMA have wanted to emphasise 5G this year, MWC Barcelona promises to feature a record-breaking presence of 6G, with companies like Samsung, Nokia, ZTE, SK Telecom and more bringing their experts and demonstrations – and 6GWorld will be in Barcelona to be your eyes and ears at MWC.

Between February 27 and March 2, 6GWorld will have a special schedule, reporting on the latest announcements from companies, 6G-related sessions, exclusive interviews, and backstage so that you can feel the pulse of the event.

While there are hundreds of press releases at and around MWC, 6GWorld will be digging behind the headlines to understand the longer-term implications and issues. For example, topics like Open RAN and post-quantum security are certainly relevant today, but how they play out over the rest of the 2020s will play a huge part in defining the commercial and technology environment that 6G emerges into and the capabilities it can build upon. Models for engagement with other industries will be tested today and scaled – we hope! – for the future.

Meanwhile, the GSMA has long been a champion of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals. Will their announcements and initiatives this year tie in with demands for sustainable telecoms from different nation states?

How will all this play out? Check the calendar below and make sure to follow our social media accounts to keep up with all things on the road between 5G and 6G at MWC Barcelona.

If you’re there, join 6GWorld’s Alex Lawrence on Tuesday 28th, 11.30am local time for the conference session “5G Advanced, Ready for Takeoff”, featuring executives Aayush Bhatnagar of Jio Platforms, Igal Ebaz from AT&T and Sibel Tomaz of Ericsson.

And feel free to get in touch if you’re in the vicinity. Everybody has a crazy schedule but it’s great to catch up if possible.
