Head Of Small Cell Forum

Prabhakar is currently the Chair of Small Cell Forum, where he leads a vibrant community of operators, OEMs, Component Vendors & Infrastructure Providers to drive the Small Cell industry ecosystem. His work has greatly expanded the spectrum of work activity, member engagement & recruitment, cross industry collaborations and market traction. The work areas he has energized include Small Cell Networks (SCNs) for 5G-Era use cases, Development of Open Specifications, Network Architectures, Product Definitions & Management Solutions for Disaggregated 5G-SCNs, and the intersection of SCNs and Edge Computing, Private Cellular Networks, Neutral Host Solutions, AI/ML Application and finally Advocacy with Regulators & Enterprise Community. Prabhakar worked for AT&T for 7 years in the Converged Access & Device Technology organization as a Lead MTS, where he led various efforts in the areas of 5G, Edge Computing & Small Cell Networks. In particular, he worked on Network Architectures, New Technology Trials, Productization and Long Term Strategy. Prior to AT&T, he worked at InterDigital Communications, Lockheed Martin, Dialogic, Drexel University and Bharat Electronics Ltd. Prabhakar has also taught graduate level courses in Wireless Communications, Signal processing & Computer Networks as an Adjunct Professor at Villanova University, Drexel University and University of Pennsylvania. He has been awarded over 50 patents in various areas of wireless communications, and published over 50 peer-reviewed papers in the areas of communications, signal processing & system theory. He has also authored a book on “Wideband TDD”, published by John Wiley in 2004. Prabhakar holds a PhD from Delft University of Technology, Delft, The Netherlands, MS from Philips International Institute, Eindhoven The Netherlands and BTech from Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, India.
