Piet Wambacq received the PhD. degree in Electrical Engineering from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven, Belgium in 1996. Since 1996 he works with imec, Belgium where he is currently Fellow. He is also part-time professor with the University of Brussels (VUB), Belgium.

He authored or co-authored 6 books and more than 350 scientific papers. His main interests are in analog, RF and mm-wave IC design for wireless communication and sensing applications. He has been in the program committee of solid-state circuit design conferences such as ESSCIRC and ISSCC. He is the Program Chair for ISSCC 2023.
