Ning Wang

Ning Wang is currently a full professor at the 5G/6G Innovation Centre hosted at the University of Surrey. He obtained his B. Eng degree from Changchun University of Science and Technology, M. Eng degree from Nanyang Technological University in 1996 and 2000 respectively. He joined University of Surrey in 2000 to pursue his PhD which was awarded in 2005. Since then, he has been with the University as a postdoc researcher and then as an academic staff till now. Since 2013, he has been leading a dedicated research team working on 5G networking, covering major research topics at the network layer and above. Over the past 20 years, Professor Wang has been actively involved in research projects funded by EU (starting from Framework Programme 5 all the way to Horizon Europe) and UK funding bodies. In addition to his track record of research publications, Professor Wang has been actively involved in stadardisation activities in 3GPP, IETF, ITU and ETSI. He was one of the key contributors to the ITU Network 2030 initiative. His research achievements have featured IEEE ComSoc Technology News (https://www.comsoc.org/publications/ctn) on a wide variety of research topics, including network energy efficiency, QoE-aware mobile video streaming over Internet and space-terrestrial network integration in 5G.
