Kostas Chalkiotis joined Deutsche Telekom Group Technology in 2013 as Vice President in Mobile Access. His primary function was to define the strategy, architecture, innovation and blueprints for Mobile Access Networks in Deutsche Telekom Group. As of the beginning of 2016 he is also responsible for the architecture of the fixed networks within Deutsche Telekom Group Technology. Since 2018 he took over the responsibility of Access & Home Networks in DT group defining the strategy, architecture and innovation for access and home Networks in Deutsche Telekom Group.
Currently, he is Vice President responsible for E2E 5G Solutions as well as for Access and Home Networks in Strategy & Technology Innovation and working for Technology Architecture & Innovation (TAI). His primary function is to define and revise the architecture, strategy, steer the innovation and define the high-level design (including the standardization) for E2E 5G Solutions in Deutsche Telekom Group.
Main technologies addressed are LTE-A, LTE – A Pro, NB-IoT/LTE-Cat-M and 5G technologies.
He has nineteen years’ working experience in Telecommunications. He worked in Cosmote Greece from 2001 – 2013 when he moved to DTAG. Also, he was the head of EMF Department in Greek Atomic Energy Commission from 1998 – 2000.
He has 27 published articles in peer-reviewed scientific journals, 2 books published, participation in development of IEEE C95.1/2005 and 57 announcements in International Conferences.
Also, he holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering & Computing, and is also Alternate Board Member for Deutsche Telekom in NGMN (Next Generation Mobile Networks).
