Hans-Jürgen Zepernick

Professor of Radio Communications, Blekinge Institute of Technology

Hans-Jürgen Zepernick received the Dipl.-Ing. (M.Sc.E.) degree from the University of Siegen, Germany, in 1987 and the Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Hagen, Germany, in 1994. From 1987 to 1989, he was with Siemens AG, Germany. He is currently a professor of radio communications at the Department of Computer Science (DIDA) of the Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden.

Prior to this appointment, he held the positions of Professor of wireless communications at Curtin University of Technology, Deputy Director of the Australian Telecommunications Research Institute, and Associate Director of the Australian Telecommunications Cooperative Research Centre. He was a Visiting Professor at the University of Western Australia, Faculty of Engineering and Mathematical Science, Perth, Australia.

Dr. Zepernick served as a member of the Swedish management committee within the European Network on Quality of Experience in Multimedia Systems and Services (Qualinet). His research interests include advanced wireless communications, mobile multimedia processing, quality of immersive mobile multimedia experiences, perceptual quality assessment, and visual and interactive computing. He has authored or co-authored more than 300 technical papers on these topics. Dr. Zepernick is an IEEE Senior Member.
