During April 9-11 2024, almost 200 experts gathered to discuss fundamental issues with how the telecoms world transitions from today to its next generation. Discussions covered questions around:
- Why we would want to move past 5G.
- What the business case is.
- What changes in approach we need to make if we’re to avoid repeating past mistakes, for example in spectrum and standards processes.
- How different stakeholders need engaging, from indoors to space and from chipsets to end users.
- How to reconcile demands for sustainability, resilience and societal goals with profit motives.
The event also featured a day highlighting cutting-edge research which can enable the required outcomes, covering everything from hardware to AI, services to MIMO.
