Kyunghan Lee

Professor, University of Seoul

Kyunghan Lee is a full professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees from the Department of Electrical Engineering at KAIST (Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology), Daejeon, Korea, in 2002, 2004, and 2009, respectively. He is serving as an Editor for IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking, IEEE Transactions on Vehicular Technology, Computer Networks (Elsevier), and ICT Express. He had served as a General Co-Chair of ACM MobiHoc 2022. He is a Next-Generation Member of KAST (Y-KAST) and the Chair of the Softwarization Committee of ORIA (Open RAN Industrial Alliance) of Korea.

He received ACM MobiSys Best Paper Award in 2021 and received two IEEE ComSoc William R. Bennett Prize in 2013 and 2016, respectively, given to the best original paper published in the IEEE/ACM Transactions on Networking in the previous three years. His research interests include low-latency networking for 5G/6G, mobile machine learning, deep learning for image/video/data encoding, split computing, low-power computing, mobile systems for augmented/mixed reality, and human context modeling.

Prior to joining Seoul National University, he had been with the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at UNIST (Ulsan National Institute of Science and Technology) as an assistant professor and a tenured associate professor from 2012 to 2020; and worked in the Department of Computer Science, North Carolina State University as a senior research scholar and a postdoctoral scholar from 2010 to 2012.
